Have you finished a WU (Work Unit) yet? You need at least one to be registered in the stats.

How do I go about doing that? My computer says 7900/10000 if this means anything. Where do I find the work units? I have no earthly clue of what I'm doing. I downloaded everything, then I put my team number in the box but I stilll can't see my information under the team list. Have no clue what I'm doing wrong Please help.

I'm sorry for the confusion. Running Folding@home should be relatively simple, but there are some terminology that we use. Hopefully we can clarify things for you.

A work unit is the actual work your computer is sent to do. The client (the program you installed) downloads this from the Stanford server, does the calculations on it, and returns it back to Stanford. Each Work Unit (WU) has associated deadlines and point values. Right now you are 79% of the way done with your Work Unit. When it completes, your contribution will be saved into the database and you will be awarded credit in points. When the statistics page updates, which is usually done every hour, it will refresh the page and then you will see your username along with the WUs you have completed and how many points you have earned. Points correlate to scientific value, so they can be a pretty good way of measuring your accomplishments. But this whole process happens in the background, but of course like you noticed you can check on the status and see how things are going.

If you would also like to learn more, you can ask further questions and we'd be happy to answer. Consider also looking through a couple of the FAQs on the Folding@home website, or you can read the Folding@home article on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F@H) which should summarize things. All of these are good options and should help.

Welcome to the F@H Forum lrwbster[f11],

Did you create a new team or are you joining a pre-existing one?
