Is it good or bad?

like the XXXXX bytes downloaded part, is that good or bad?

The xxxx bytes downloaded is completely normal, and in fact necessary. The cores are what do the actual calculations, and they are not included with the initial client download. When a WU is downloaded and the client detects the core's not present, it downloads the core, which is what you see there.

Those other messages at the beginning are also normal- when the client first starts, there's no work directory, userID, or queue, so the client makes them.

EDIT: Removed incorrect info. I haven't used the systray client in so long that I forgot about changing the settings using it.

For more information on the FahCores, see the WIkI: http://fahwiki.net/index.php/Cores

In case anyone else notices this bit in Epicmonkey's log:

[17:23:38] CoreStatus = 62 (98)
[17:23:38] + Restarting core (settings changed)

This is not an error. Epicmonkey is running the systray version, which has the ability to accept changes without stopping the client.

If the changes require a core restart the client will do this automatically and record this in the log using the message above.

More info on core codes can be found here: http://fahwiki.net/index.php/CoreStatus_codes

P.S.: it's the Gromacs i'm doing right now.

It's probably fine. I have a dual P4 crunching a WU at about 30 minutes per frame (1%). It all depends on the project you're working on and the hardware specs.

If you want someone to take a closer look, please give the specifics of your hardware (CPU and RAM, particularly) as well as the project number (from the log). In my case, the WU I mentioned is Project: 7024 (Run 1, Clone 136, Gen 7).

I have a Core2 Quad crunching a different WU at about six minutes per frame, as another example.

yep, you can run loads of clients with the same name, team and passkey.

do note however that it is not recommended to run multiple clients(V6) or Slots (v7) on 1 CPU core, as they will steal CPU time from eachother
*added the slots instead of only having clients in there, thanks MtM for pointing that out

Yes. You can use the same username for any and all clients you want to install on one machine, and even on clients on different computers. If you have multiple clients on the same computer be sure to set each one to a unique machine ID, else you will get some conflict reports.

What are your hardware specs? That will help us help you set things up right ;)

Edit:

Also, with the new V7 client, you will still be running one client, with multiple slots using distinct folding capable hardware in your system. You could try reading up some of the guides and faq's for that client as your question(s) should be covered there.

I'll give you an example. I use the v6 client, and I am running the SMP and GPU3 at the same time right now. You should be able to install each individually, configuring each one by one, and then make sure both are running. I like to have a shortcut on my desktop for both clients, that way I can easily start them up. But without more information I can't help you in more detail. As MtM said, having hardware specs is helpful, but also I'd like to know what client you'd like to use. You can use the Main uniprocessor, the GPU for your graphics card, or the multi-core SMP. Each has its own installation guide.

I'm going to merge this topic with the other one you started where you asked the same questions and where you were also asked to provide you hardware specifications so we can help determine if running two clients would be beneficial or not. Running two clients on the same machine is probably not useful. If the first client is set up correctely, it will use whaever resources your computer has and adding another client will just run two assignments at half speed because they'll be competing for the same resources. The correct answer to your question is:
On different computers, yes. On the same computer, different clients may be useful or they may be detrimental to the science.

We can't help you without more information.

How many computers to do you have?
How much RAM do they have?
What type of CPU do they have?
What type of Video device do they have?
