This is probably somewhere in your files, but how about a quick, simple answer. Is there any way to configure a console installation?

Hello castleknight, welcome to the forum.
Yes, run console with -configonly switch.

Thanks.

Apparently I don't know enough to even ask a question.
I don't know what "run console" means. This is apparently a command line client that pretty much runs itself. The only way I know of to start it is something I found accidentally.
Folding@home-Win32-x86.exe appeared on my desktop. Curious, I clicked on it and the thing started running. The only way I've found to stop it is to click the X on what looks a lot like a command line screen.
Long story short, I have no idea how to run "console," let alone how to ad a switch to it.
Thanks

The console is the black window that appears when you double click that file.
I would recommend reading the install guide. You probably don't want the client and all of the supporting files cluttering up your desktop.
