There's no record of Project: 6901 (Run 2, Clone 12, Gen 3) being completed. The portion of your log that you posted doesn't show the results being uploaded yet.

The message "Couldn't send HTTP request to server" is reported for both 130.237.232.237 and 130.237.165.141

FYI, I've completed at least 6 bigadv WUs with no issue until this one. Currently folding one that's at 55% - will see what happens with it.

Stanford guys, would it be possible to do any of the following:
  • 1. Give folders access to a table dates/times when each WUs was downloaded, completed, and returned? It's possible I missed the 80% cut-off. I don't see how it's possible, but it could be. I'm not watching all my GPU folders closely.
    2. If you did publish WU data by user, include a status code indicating how it was processes (assessed bonus points, reason if not assessed, etc.)
    3. Possibly indicate a status when the WU is returned so we'll know what happed with it?
I understand that all this takes effort and that you have limited resources. I also get that giving up this information could drive up the noise level on this forum with challenges to the data, requests for more information, etc. However, this possibly could be addressed with a small army of volunteers to field this questions (similar to what you do now, I believe). Perhaps Bruce or somebody else could oversee this effort.

Hopping on my soapbox...

I know you are all hard at work trying to solve diseases - I would hate to see that get interrupted. However, the more folders you have, the more research gets done. The more current folders are happy, content, and satisfied with the tools they use, the more folders you will have the more affinity you'll have with each folder. You could argue that points don't really matter. That's a completely reasonable and logical argument.

But the bottom line is we do fold for points. Human beings are competitive in nature respond to stimuli. This stimulus in this case is points. We apply effort and see points as a result. If people lose confidence in the reward system, they lose affinity for folding. (Yes, I got an A in psych 101.)

I know this is being looked at that those involved want us to have the best possible folding experience. I don't know if these ideas are practical or feasible. Just food for thought.

And if I have to lose a few points occasionally in order to keep folding, so be it. No software is perfect.

I predict that your soapbox will yield no response. The Mods do maybe 10 or 20 transactions a day. Opening that capability to the world would produce maybe 50000 transactions a day. The stanford guys would have to ban anyone who use more that maybe one transaction a day to keep the total manageable. It's pretty simple to ask a Mod, and they do seem to be pretty responsive.

HFM and FahMon can keep a record of your WUs locally. Use that capability, and if it doesn't meet your needs, write one yourself or work with the 3rd party authors to enhance what it already does.

I hear you. However, tracking WUs myself is not the issue - I would like to see what Stanford does WUs when they are submitted.

So don't I feel silly. I somehow thought this WU had been uploaded - it has not. I'm getting an error on every upload attempt.

Thanks to the mod (Bruce?) who is paying closer attention than am I for moving this. Sorry for the calling out the points. Issue.

Anything else I can try to get this WU to upload?

Same problem and solution as here: Project: 6901 "Server reports problem with unit" assuming you downloaded the work unit at about the same time as the originator of that thread.

Problem has since been fixed on the server. But if this WU was downloaded before the fix, it won't ever get sent back.

Thanks 7im, but this appears to be a different issue. That issue appears to only take place with a 32 bit OS - I'm running Win 7 64. I also never got a compression error, "Server reports problem with unit" or any other message. It's just not uploading to the server.

Checked my queue info and then tried to send that result. It just sits there. Ideas?

This WU did get submitted overnight. It looks like I got 55-60K credit vs. the originally projected 78K. Given how late it went in I'm surprised the number was that high.

Glad it went in. Communications issues are hard to debug (client vs. ISP vs. server). We've updated the server code with some new features that should reduce any server-side contribution to troubles such as these.

Hi Andy_R (team 32),
Your WU (P6901 R2 C12 G3) was added to the stats database on 2011-03-08 21:09:35 for 57294.1 points of credit.
