Proving It's Safe

I want to be able to prove to other people that this utility is safe and is not mailicious. I know it isn't, but others don't believe me.
Can someone give me some good reasons as to why this is safe? And worth using?

Just look at the major donors listed on the project home page. People like Intel and Google would not contribute to dangerous programs, nor would a major university like Stanford put out something that was not safe. And large companies like that would not contribute if the cause was not worthy.
Also, the program is only downloadable from Stanford, so it can not be corrupted or hacked.
