I've been hoping for some new news on the status of the 32-bit Linux SMP client for a while now. I run FreeBSD on my servers, so I cannot run 64-bit Linux with SMP support -- the built-in emulation can only emulate 32-bit Linux, and qemu can run 64-bit Linux but does not support true SMP. VMWare doesn't make FreeBSD-compatible products anymore.
There haven't been any updates about this since July of 2007, when Dr. Pande stated that there were still problems with MPI under 32-bit Linux, and that testing other MPIs may help.
Is there still any hope of a 32-bit Linux client, now that a new MPI library is being explored for Windows as mentioned on the News page? We haven't heard any official word on this in a long time.
New MPI library helpful for 32-bit Linux SMP?

Re: New MPI library helpful for 32-bit Linux SMP?
Unfortunately, the new MPI library applies only to Windows (it's a Windows implementation), so we have no further news on 32-bit linux SMP clients at this time. Sorry.
