Project: 10023 (Run 1247, Clone 0, Gen 3)

Hi, I don't think there is anything wrong with this core.. at least I hope not.. My problem seems to be this core is stuck in an infinite loop.. It is stuck at 32/100 for the past 2 days so when I looked at my log I realized it was pausing and unpausing itself at certain intervals. I remember pausing it two or three times when I was going to use my computer to do intensive things, but I didn't think the core would be stuck in a loop of pausing and unpausing? Also I am getting a "Restarting core, settings changed" I don't think I changed anything hardware wise. I only updated Microsoft security essentials and adobe reader. Restarted the computer a few times to see if the core gets unstuck and it did not..

Think I am just going to delete this core and start a new one since it seems to be stuck in an infinite loop, just want to make sure that its just my pc and not the core. P.S. I had to cut the log because this goes on until now and the log gets to long to be accepted because I time out trying to preview the post alone. It appears to have started as the log mention and has been going on for quite a while. Even as I looked into the log today on what was taking it so long to move on from 32/100

There is a known problem with the b4 core pausing itself (see http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f ... 7&start=15) but this seems to be the WU causing the failure as it's at the same place everytime (32% completion). I would delete the core and work folder and try to get a new WU. As you're using the systray client I would suggest using the no-nonsense console client as the systray client seems to have problems with the b4 core.

Hi, I would like to provide an update. After restarting the computer a few times it still was giving me trouble. So I decide to shutdown the computer for the night since I normally leave this computer running 24/7, I decide that I would give the computer a break and since it was summer everyone seem to be using a lot of power so I thought I help the grid out a little.

Anyways, the important thing is for some odd reason having the computer shutdown for about 10 hours the core seems to be folding and working again. I don't know why but as soon as my computer started up it said 33/100 so It moved from 32/100 so I check my log and I checked again this afternoon its at 37/100 so somehow it fixed itself when the computer was shut off. :shock:

I guess I will see if it gets finish and if I get any credit for it.. also will check to see if it will crash again. :wink:

Can you post the new log with the continuation of the WU? Also is there anything unusual about your machine as the last part of the log you posted, showed that you processed 30% of the WU in 2 seconds!

Nothing seems wrong with it now. I guess something was stuck in an infinite loop I assume in memory because it went away when the computer was off. Ran memory diagnostic tool and everything passed so guess its one of those super rare occasional bugs that happen once and you can't explain it but it only happens once.

Nothing unsual about this machine, other then when it gets really hot the computer goes to a crawl. As mention in the log it is a P4 2.80Ghz CPU w HT and 2GB of DDR2 memory (512MB x 4) runs a 40GB Western Digital (SATA) HD. Everything on this computer is factory default. PC is HP DC5100MT.
