Unable to get WU - ISP blocking [SOLVED]

Hello,

I am currently in the UAE and I am unable to get any folding client to connect and get WU, seems the ISP is blocking it for some reason (and they aren't going to unblock anything for me in a hurry).

I was able to run Hotspot Shield (a free VPN proxy) and then the client was successful in getting and submitting the only problem is Hotspot Shield would disconnect randomly so I had to manually connect it the whole time which was A) tedious and B) meant I was getting around 3000 ppd out of a possible 4500 ppd due to idle time the client couldn't connect when I was sleeping...

So I guess I am looking for a better solution... (24/7 folder in the making thinking of starting a farm as electricity here is for free!!)

edit: Oh, On windows Vista wanting to use the GPU2 client!!

Neil

We've had other reports from UAE (and a couple of other countries) saying the same thing. In the past, we've suggested that folks contact their ISP and ask to have it unblocked but apparently that has not been successful. "It's the government" or something like that.

I hope you won't have too many timeouts ... Tor is not known for its velocity :(

Only the F@H client using the Tor network (AFAIK) so it shouldn't be an issue :)
