Does the amount of RAM in your machine make any difference in how fast you turn out your WUs or complete your project?

If you have too little RAM, then I believe F@h will not run at optimal speed. But assuming you have sufficient RAM for the OS you're running (i.e. 2 GB for Vista), then increasing the amount of RAM will not make any difference. Going from 2 GB to 4 GB, for instance, will almost certainly not improve performance.

If you could tell what OS you're running and how much RAM you currently have, we could say definitively whether you need more.

Also include which client or clients you plan to run on that OS...

3 machines. All P4 (2 at 3.0GHz, 1 at 2.8GHz) HT CPUs.
The 3.0s have 1GB PC3200, the 2.8 has1.23GB PC3200.
All 3 running the systray client.

The classic client doesn't use up much RAM, so 1 gig or so is fine.

Yes, assuming those P4's are running winXP not Vista, as you said above enough RAM for your OS is enough to fold the uniprocessor client. More RAM than that won't make them faster I'm afraid.

I should be OK then. The 3.0's are running XP Pro, and the 2.8 is XP Home.
Many thanks to all who responded.
