I started using F@H recently as favor, and I was unable to find a couple of answers I needed in the FAQs and guides.

1. Is there a save command that I can use manually? I don't leave my computer on 24/7 and it seems rather inefficient to lose data every time I shut down, even if it is only about 5 or 10 minutes worth.

2. I was in the configuration menu once and noticed an option that seemed like it would boost F@H's resource usage (and by extension speed) and turned it on because I was going to be away from my computer for awhile. I was surprised though, when my CPU usage actually dropped to about 2% after I hit OK and ended up returning to the default setting. Is there a way to boost F@H during times that I know I won't be using my computer for anything else?

There is no manual "save" command -- and the software can't stop at an arbitrary point, either. If the loss of 5 or 10 minutes is important to you, turn on -verbosity 9 and watch the output until the next checkpoint.

There are two settings that you might have interpreted as ways to boost FAHs production, but by default, FAH uses all of the unused resources. There's no need for a change to a manual setting when you're going to be away from your computer. There is a setting that can reduce FAH's utilization if your computer has inadequate cooling capabilites (like some laptops).
