I don't need to hear the gripping either...but, I did dump about $2,500 into folding in the last 3 months and the only thing I ask is to have it work. If anyone would like to point out that I was not forced to spend the money or that thay have spent more.....send me a cheque and you can say whatever you want and I can buy more folding rigs....don't worry...I'll kick in for the electricity :D

Appreciate the discussion. Looking through the logs, seems a handful of WU's have been rejected as already being sent. Disappointing for sure but like others, I'm shutting them down and will wait for the servers to be fixed. The SMP is still chugging so at least it won't all be 0's. ;) Rough estimate, for my 3 GPU's with the rejected WU's is ~$3 in electricity. I sympathize with those who have substantial GPU farms. :(

Haha, yeah, I have the most expensive cat-hair air filter sitting here right now! Too bad I took the time last night to bring it down and clean the GTX275, CPU, N. bridge, and case fans/coolers. Oh well, I am down ~13,000 PPD but my two -bigadv clients are still perking along just fine.

LMAO   Speaking of -bigadv...I have one getting done in about 5 hours...I hope it sends and can get another WU.. :(

My rig was fine yesterday, but it's been a nightmare today. Either I've been getting bad 783 wu's or all 5 8800gt cards I own have suddenly started dying. I'd say 90% of my WUs today have eue'd today. Nothing seems to have sent and now I'm not getting any new WUs just like everyone else.
For the person who said it's costing you nothing, well it would if I physically remove the card from my pc, but while they're there it is costing me money.

If my cards are dieing then I hope it's jusy coincidence that last night they were all getting 373, 445 and 450s which were mega high points on my cards. ALmost 2000 over normal.

Bigadv works on its own server not related to the GPU project servers (mine sent fine today)

the GPU servers in the past when they have gone down they do tend to do it over the week end so no one can reboot the server if tis stuck (no remote reboot hardware switches options i guess)

I came home to...
Radeon HD4650 folding happily
Nvidia GTX280 stuck for last 4 hours with no work
Inspected clients for any differences.
Added -forcegpu ati_r700 to GTX280 client.
Folding happily for now. :)

Not yet, but I should know in a little over an hour when I check stats. Better than having the card twiddle thumbs. Thankfully none of the Radeon units are 3 or 6 hours.

Nvidia GPUs will not properly process work units that are configured for Ati GPUs.

I've now stopped all of my machines, had a look at another GPU project but gave up on that after an hour or so :) I'm suprised nobody from Admin or Staff has posted especially as the temperature in here has risen a few degrees in the last couple of hours.

Hmmmmm...Seti@home.....the search for extra testicular life. Might as well...no life at Stanford right now.

Not really. If your Modem/Router supports it you can block off a server, which should mean it'll try a different server , depends what's running and has work I suppose. Worked for me a few years ago but I no longer have that modem.

Stanford have asked us to commit to their project and donate our precious time and resources.
