good luck to ya Ruth..
just one thing .. make sure the school knows that there is atleast going to be a small percentage rise in both power usage and broadband data.
Otherwise after the first month (whenever they get their bills) they'll be shocked and looking to put blame on something.. and Folding@Home would be the first thing gone and most likely never let installed back on the Schools computers again.
But hope all goes well
p.s. also add that you are personally only too willing to help every which way to install this software and monitor etc.

Update:
The school will be trying this out over the summer. If they like the results they will try this out in middle school and if the results are good there then the whole school district.

I'll talk to one of our IT employed at my school and see if they can use the computers to fold proteins. Because, they just stand there without doing anything almost the whole day. And thats disturbing. Insteed, they can use all that power and install and let F@H run insteed. Hopefully, I'll gain more points
Well, they have atleast 100 computers, some with dualprocessors. How can I make so every computer have fah installed? I'll need to use cmd fah, right? But then? Do I've to go to every computer and install or what?
Because, I need to know so I can tell him whats going on and how we can make this to work. So, what do I need to know? F@W perhaps?
Thanks for answer!

You may want to ask your Biology teacher ( not agressively but with a genuine tone towards humanity)... "If the project proves to contribute one worthy drug for any of the causes, does it matter how many scientists work on the project?" I'm sure that he is aware of funding issues for personnel and scientific research. Most people have been touched in some way by the problems/Diseases/Conditions F@H is working on. It's just that most don't know that F@H exists. Play to their sense of humanity. And tell them you'll do a "Letter to the Editor" asking why, if they do not give the idea some research and serious consideration (if all other means fail
). I'm sure once they understand the Project it will only be a matter of "Budget" which they do not control.
Good luck

That's a bit over the top
, but +1,000 on the congrats
.
Sorry I did not see this before my previous post. Still the bucks for electric bills will surely come up. Can Pande get a presentation together? If this flies here, as a "pilot" the project implications are immense for cloning. We all know how local Govt's hate to be outdone
.

Sounds good but you're going to have to address the issue of $'s spent on electricity. I know in my school district there's a constant battle over money. Give them estimates ahead of time would help your cause.
