It all depends on how much of your time you are willing to waste for the card which is no longer supported by AMD themselves, will rarely get any work, might or might not run HIP in the future (most likely not), and is relatively slow. Spending more money to have a chance to be able to run that card would be more wasted resources
If you spent this time and money on getting something like rtx4080 to work, then that would be understandable. Project will be fine without that GPU.

these cards supposedly prone to failure, so why risk them? would enjoy them otherwise since are not easy to replace on aftermarket.
