Re: FahCore 23 broken on Fedora 39
Is there a reason you are splitting into two slots? Just run 1 slot with CPU:16 setting, and you will be ok.
Regarding why your Slot 0 is misbehaving, it is possible it is running on the same cores as the other slot.
Otherwise I am out of solutions.

This problem started with CPU:16. I tried two slots to see if new units would help, and indeed one slot started folding. I'll switch back when it finishes.

Why not 7.6.21 (i think that is the latest)?
Various older builds had some weird random issues

Re: FahCore 23 broken on Fedora 39
The same Core a8 and 23 files should be downloaded regardless of the FAHClient version. Maybe the command line passed to the core could be slightly different in newer clients, but probably not.
You could try going into the BIOS and underclocking the CPU or memory slightly. Sometimes when hardware ages, the stability can degrade when run at full speed.

Let's assume that latest fahcore requires latest stable fahclient
There is no reason to not update to most recent version

I was unaware of version updates to remove weird random issues.

Re: FahCore 23 broken on Fedora 39
If it’s stuck at connecting, the client is probably not running.
There are problems with the init.d scripts.
Somewhere on this forum is a post about creating a systemd service for v7.
I think this was it:

Re: FahCore 23 broken on Fedora 39
It appears to gack about the lack of "/var/run/fahclient.pid" Any hints on finding that, or a workaround?

I believe the client is supposed to create the pid file.
There may be permissions problems.

Re: FahCore 23 broken on Fedora 39
If I ran it as root, what permissions could be a problem?

I defer to any Linux experts here.

Also, it appears that /var/run points to /run on this system.
