Unfortunately, it only works with forum posts, not PMs... (there's no Report button on the PM screen)

Maybe PMs could be disabled until a newcomer has some (legit) posts on the forum?
Say PMs are enabled after 25 posts or something.

How about making a sticky post about spam reporting?
There are several different threads about spam, so this should clear up things.
Thanks, and best regards,
François

The ! in the triangle is good for reporting posts, but doesn't show up among the buttons on the PM page.
The best way to report a spam PM is to hit the "quote" button, which opens a reply message to the sender, including the entire text of the PM. Then use the little x by the sender's name to delete the sender from the recipient list, and add in bruce and uncle_fungus.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could get a GPS location on "it" (a spammer) and just do a personal bang on "it," including complete destruction of "it's" computer and access to the net. Then have a watch on "it." If "it" gets new hardware, "it" gets back on line, "it" gets "it's" butt kicked again. No "Ifs, And or Buts" about it. The Guberment won't stop them. Looks like we are going to have to do this ourselves. The same goes for trojan, rootkit and virus writers. Just take "it" out!

Nope. Two wrongs don't make a right.
Here we practice defensive computing, maybe complain to the perp's ISP if it's a white hat ISP.
We also realize that most spam comes out of trojaned machines in botnets. The owners of individual machines don't have a clue that their computer is being abused by the real spammers. And destroying their computer or internet connection wouldn't help when there are 99,999 other rigs in the botnet.
If you want vigilante justice for spammers, you will find like-minded people at the newsgroup news.announce.net-abuse.email. Be sure to lurk for two weeks before you post, because it will take you that long to get past the angry, sarcastic, verbally abusive mob culture with its own brand of political correctness, and identify the maybe 20% of contributors who have something useful to say. And watch your step, as there isn't a particle of kindness to be found there.
No more about spammer-whacking here, please.
But please do continue to report any spams you see on the forum or in PM's.

Hi, I know that you are really good at Folding.
I have 66 000 points in folding@home and need 34 000 points more to get 100 000 points.
When I get 100 000 points I get "cowboy hat" in PR2.
So I wonder if you can give me 34 000 points.
If you do that, I will say to peoples that F@H is good and I want to tell them that your team is a good team.
Maybe I will switch over to your team, I fold 2500-5000 point on 24h (with a 9600 GT graphic card and a 2,33 Ghz Quad processor).
I send that message to more peoples than you, because I want to get 100 000 points faster, but if you want to fold for me I will remember you when I play PR2 and I will remember that you are a big reason to that I got Cowboy hat.
Team Number: 143016
User name: GADADAD

^Actually, this is how their whole site/team works. They get others on the website, its a flash gaming site, to fold for each other.
They've got 650ish users.....
