I just googled that and it says it's something you supposed to be able to do on all these devices we use to fold with!
Amazing! Never thought technology was THAT advanced!

153K PPD? Equivalent of 30+ G92 boards? That's just silly. Some people clearly have more money than sense.

Sure - I donate my spare CPU and GPU time to F@H. I even try to do more exotic things like trying to get F@H clients work on platforms they're not designed for. But actually buying hardware specifically for folding is taking it a bit too far, IMO. When the prices settle post G92b release I'll be upgrading my 8800GT to a pair of 4850s because I want more FPS @ 2560x1600. And yes - 2x 4850 will produce considerably fewer PPD than a single 8800GT.

My gf knows I need help but she never been addicted. Her computer folds, too, but she doesn't want to know how to check the client.

8-)

There should be a picture of Dr. Pande on every power bill with the caption "This man needs you" :)
"Rumors that the National Power Utilities Consortium has voted Dr. Pande of Stanford University to receive their "Man of the Century" award are simply untrue", said a spokesman for the Consortium. "They've only voted him "Man of the Decade". :eugeek:
Wrongo...that hypocrite Al Gore will shut this project down so he and his dad's companies can profit from "green energy." Drill here. Drill now. Build nukes and alternative fuel cars that run on sugar ethanol like Brazil. Ummm lift Clinton's "Wildlife Preserve" status from Utah and Arizona so we can make use of the U.S. largest low sulfur coal reserve instead of buying low sulfur coal imported from China by Feinstein's husband.

Just another folding addict outraged by today's power and gas bills. :ewink:

Why do you think I want the GPU2 client to run under Linux - for games??!?

PS I've somehow roped my wife into automatically checking all the clients are working fine when I'm away on business
lol, im still at the stage where im in constant debate with my livingpartner to have the computers running. Shes always trying to get me to shut them the hell off lol. Her last remark was
So... when will you get a package in the mail from Dr. Pande with a big reward for doing his work?
and another one the other day.
Is Dr. Pande at least gonna pay our freaking powerbill?
I think you should start a marrigeconsultant service aswell :P

These remarks were so good i had to quote them... and i recognize myself in each one of them.
I hate it when my kids play games or my wife even checks the news.
I have two video games still sitting here in their shrinkwrap because I became a Folding addict right after buying them.
I'll feel guilty knowing the clients aren't running at their full potential.
The completely silent HTPC in my living room is now a noisy heat box because it's been upgraded for Folding.
I find myself planning further high end GPU purchases .....well I've got empty slots so that's not right is it?
I can't pass a computer without thinking about how I can get a client on there.
Upgraded a perfectly adequate media server just to fold on.
Look what you have turned us into hehe.

Well, couple months ago I've bought 2 8800's JUST for F@H. What a surprise, 1 of them WON'T fold no way under any OS (XP/Vista), drivers and config, while the other (same brand/model) works fine... More, gaming is fine, but not F@H. It's really annoying, because I'm not sure how to replace it with SUCH error. "CUDA won't work"?
