Port 443 is already forwarded to a different host for https access
That sounds proxy-like to me.
Typically a proxy is impacting outbound connections. (e.g. client -> proxy -> Internet). This is why browsers need to know about them. Port forwarding is the opposite. Public Internet -> Router -> Local server.
Typically the only reason to use port forwarding is to expose an internal server to the public Internet. In general this is a bad idea unless you know what you are doing.

Sure, no problem. I stopped the v8 beta server due to the WU issue. I will restart it today and attach the requested log lines with level 3 verbosity. Note that this system is running the standard (e.g. non-debug) build.

I could not figure out the best way to post the log since it is lengthy and so I uploaded it to
https://textdoc.co/9PWJvE8n3Mwu5aXB. Hopefully this is readable. Please let me know if you have any issues accessing this or if you would like any additional data.
TIA!

I think maybe there’s just no WUs available for cpu:1.
Can you try setting CPUs to 2?

Since this is not the service client, you should remove the log and log-rotate-dir options.

Wow so adding a second CPU in the GUI seemed to solve the "No WU" problem as it found one and started working. Great! I am curious why.
I still don't see any entries in the "cause" box and so would still love to figure out how to resolve that.
Oh and removing the log entries from config.xml makes it stop logging when running from CLI and so I left those in.
We are making excellent progress. Thank you!

Unexpected update -- The cause list just populated! I have no idea why as I have done nothing except early today when I changed the CPU 2.

Removing the log options should have made the client create log.txt in the PWD instead of in /var/log/fah-client

WUs have minimum and maximum cpus set by the researcher. Cpu 1 is probably deemed unable to complete work in time.

Thank you for the log details and CPU clarification.
If 1 CPU will rarely work, should the client even allow that as an option? Is there some other limit that? At a minimum, it should be documented.

I have a different situation:
If I run `fah-client` in MacOS Ventura via `launchctl load`, it pulls in my config file without me needing to specify it in the `.plist` file...and then just sits there doing nothing after loading up everything -- normal log output about config file, computer details, etc. No WUs worked on. It also throws a fit about me attempting to connect to the web control:

On the other hand, if I run `fah-client --config /path/to/config.xml` directly from the command line, it works as expected! I get WUs. It works on them. I can access web control.

If you use the standard installer, you shouldn't be having trouble.
You should not normally be using launchctl.
And if you don't use "sudo launchctl ..." you are not running the client in the right context.

Please create a new thread and explain what you're trying to do that is non-standard.

Sorry, wasn't specific. Yes, using `sudo launchctl`.
