I would not expect 5nm TSMC based Nvidia 3000 series cards until after summer 2021 at the earliest, if at all. I'd expect supply of the 3000 series cards to stabilize closer to the New Year, or at least January.

For the 5nm process, nothing indicates that it could happen next year, but for the 7nm process, it could be quite soon.
Nvidia already prepared their GA100 for TSMC's production. So it wouldn't be that hard to adapt the 3090, 3080, and 3070, for example, and launch some, say, "Super" versions early next year.

Either way, the 3000 aren't good candidates for folding or doing any GPU computation. Sure, they're faster than a 2000 series GPU, but something is messed up!
They're not as efficient.
Sure, they cost less than 2000 models, but also consume 1/3rd more power!

Something in the 3000 series GPUs needs to be tweaked. And it probably won't be a driver issue. Perhaps on a next model Nvidia will find the cause of the power hogging?

So far, I haven't seen any numbers yet, on when people cap the power on those GPUs, and see where the optimal setting is. Like, where the boost clock will drop below 1700-1800Mhz.
If that value isn't under 200W, it means RTX 2000 GPUs (if you already own them) will be better off waiting another year for an upgraded model.
Seems like the 3000 series we've been waiting for (perhaps with better memory) will be released around Nvidia's regular time (April/May).

Has anyone seen any folders posting any numbers yet?

Those numbers seem a bit low, compared to the numbers posted.
The 3080 had 5+M PPD, and some people mentioned a 7M PPD run on a 3090.

These numbers show the real world average PPD production. If you click on the name of the card, you can see the ranges of results (and much more).

In Germany, Nvidia's stock of 3070s FE was gone in less than 4 minutes.
At proshop.de (where they publish their 3000 Series status), they had received less than 8% of their 3070 orders.
In Switzerland (where you can't buy any FE on the regular market), the largest retailer was out of stock in 5. I tried to snatch a Ventus. It was there when I clicked Buy, and it was gone when my money went over.
Still no wave...

I wished there was a way to identify the scalpers, and refuse to buy their graphics cards. Let them sit on them.
It would be awesome that by the time the 3080 GPUs become available, the 3080 Ti or Super will be introduced!

Think I should have named this "After first drip release when wil 2nd, 3rd, 4th drips of 3000 series happen?"

Went and looked at Nvidia.com and read some of the comments left there and many of them were downright nasty toward Nvidia, compared to them we are giving them sweetest and bows.

Good!
The more GPUs are there for us!
Only after they purchased their AMDs do they realize their folly..

Nah, the AMD GPUs are ok-sh from gaming.
Just not the ones to choose for folding specifically. (Or any OpenCL data crunching).

Gamers nexus discredited those rumors, saying most of the TI models won't be out. And I agree with him, in that they aren't even able to properly push out their first GPUs (3080 and 3090).
