Hi.
I'm having this same issue on my MSI laptop that has an Nvidia RTX 2060. I have deleted the gpu.txt file and manually downloaded it and applied it. It is still not identifying the GPU.
I have restarted the client.
Windows 10 1909 Pro - clean recent install, current drivers.

As per your last configuration, I have noticed that you're not using a passkey. Using a passkey is recommended for security reasons and bonus points. Here's an article for you to review:

The issue is that the client doesn't detect any GPU as shown below:

I would suggest that you manually download the GPUs.txt file from here:
https://apps.foldingathome.org/GPUs.txt (right-click save as GPUs.txt)
Exit the client
Copy the GPUs.txt file from the Downloads folder to C:\Users\henso\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient
Start up the client and ensure that you can see your GPU
Add a GPU slot from FAHControl -> Configure -> Slots tab -> Add -> GPU -> OK -> Save
Just want to say thanks and give this post a bump. I built a new PC yesterday and this was the solution to creating a GPU slot. I also rebooted the machine for good measure!
The new PC is running a GTX 1660 Super, and it's a significant performance upgrade over my GTX 1060!
Thanks for making it easy for newbies to find solutions in the forums!

To get my old GPU to work and start downloading
1) downloaded GPUs.txt and added to "C:\Users\John\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient" as
described above
2) disconnected the internet to stop parcels being downloaded and starting on the
CPU only (not sure if this step was needed)
3) I renamed the config.xml (or just delete it!) and a new one was generated that
contained GPU config info "C:\Users\John\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient\config.xml"
old config
<config>
<!-- Folding Slots -->
<slot id='0' type='CPU'/>
</config>
new config
<config>
<!-- Folding Slots -->
<slot id='0' type='CPU'/>
<slot id='1' type='GPU'/>
</config>

I also had to download GPUs.txt. Once I did, I could create a GPU slot.
I suspect that the install needs to be updated.

Apparently, the issue has been resolved in a beta version.

Having the same issue on a new Dell Win 10 with 1660 ti. Not comfortable making the kind of changes suggested because it's a work computer. How do I find out when there is a stable install version available with this fixed?
