Maybe some issue with the special "ASUS Overvoltage Protection" of this motherboard? I read elsewhere that updating or removing the AI Suite can solve such issues.
Of course, it may also be a real issue with your PSU. The ASUS Overvoltage Protection is supposed to shut down the computer if the voltage level provided deviates of more than +-10% from the rated value.

I agree that it is more likely your PSU is failing, and the 12V rail voltage is unstable under high demand. Modern GPUs are very fussy about the 12V voltage.
Find an 80+ Gold rated or better PSU. A PSU designed for higher efficiency will likely have better components and tighter adherence to specs.
