Just in case anyone less techie found this thread for advice on their hardware, Fermi started with the GeForce 400 series released in 2010, Kepler with the GeForce 600 series released in 2012. My 8yo laptop has a GeForce 240M which is not useful, so don't go by the age of machine. And on the bottleneck, encouraging to see that my 2 old laptops picked up 4 wu within a couple of hours yesterday evening, so whatever you've done on the wu supply side must be having an effect.
