FAH is funded by government research grants. All, or most, of those grants are based on explicit restrictions that the money go towards RESEARCH and as such, there's no money that can be donated to CURE & FLDC. In fact, Research funding to keep things running has been hard to come by than last year and this might impact all scientific research. If you're happy spending your CPU time on improved hashing as opposed to improved medical knowledge, that's always your choice.
The support staff here is made up entirely of volunteers, including myself.
If you'd like to donate money to Stanford, you can specify that your donation go to FAH rather than into the general Stanford University donation pool. You can probably also make your own arrangements with CURE & FLDC but I wouldn't know. Please check with them.
