Do you have the same CPU on your other system ?

Note that your Celeron J1900 is limited to PCIe 2.0 4x speeds. Given the fact that my GTX 980 uses up to 45% of my PCIe 2.0 16x bus, 4x speed aren't very likely to be enough to feed such GPU ...

Sure it can feed it, just not at full speed.

I ran a GTX 760 on a 1x 2.0 connection and only lost 10-15% PPD.

There are adapters available to connect 2x6pin to 8pin (or even 2xmolex to 6pin). Your system should draw 250W under load.
If you only connect 6pin to 8pin you tell the GPU to not draw more than 75W which my cause GPU throtteling.

Can you post the logs from the client ? Something might be wrong with the WU ...

Do you see the same performance issue on other projects than p9430 ?

Hello all - Thanks for your feedback so far. I got a 8-pin adapter for the GPU power connection and it has not made any difference. I have tried two difference PSUs. 300W Seasonic and 450W Corsair. No difference in performance. On both machines I am now using the most recent nVidia driver package. The most recent work Unit I am working on is PRGC 9430. It is getting about 79K PPD so a slight improvement and GPU load is about 70% Here is the most recent log:

If you have a choice, use your slowest GPU on your slowest PCIe slot to minimize the chances of saturating the bus.

That expresses a preference for folding projects associated with research into Parkinson's disease. It is currently ignored by the server (not yet implemented). It should not affect folding speed.

It's a lot of work, but if you have two similar rigs, have you tried swapping the GPUs and seeing if the PC/software or the GPU causes the issue?

Your TPF is 13 min and should be 6 min for a gtx 970 for this project.
But I believe your PCI-E is limited like toTOW said.
But it may even be worse because of the mainboard to e.g. PCI-E x1

Can you post what is shown in GPU-Z "Graphics Card" tab while Folding?

Hello ! Thanks again for all your feedback. The GPU is in a full length slot x16 slot that is operating at x1. That is likely the the reason I guess even though GPU-Z shows the 'Bus Interface Load at only 72%.

So as min requirement for fast GPUs we recommend a PCIe x4 mode in general?

My bus load is around 25% with a 970. PCI 3.0x16 though and get around 280k PPD in windows.

Looks like you are limited by x1 mode. There are a few things you could try that may or may not have any affect:

• Set ASPM to Disabled for PEX16_1 in the BIOS under PCI Express Configuration
• Go to Advanced Power Options and set Link State Power Management to Off in your Windows power profile
• Set the affinity of FahCore17/FahCore18/FahCore21 to one core
