New to Folding already hate core 18

Still not good compared with a 780Ti --

But not bad at all if you compare number of cores and, especially, the power consumption (heat production).

My most efficient cards used to be my HD 7790s, which get on Core_17 around 50,000 PPD at 75 watts, or 667 PPD/watt.
My GTX 750 Tis on Core_18 get 26,600 PPD at 40 watts, or 665 PPD/watt.

So they are essentially equal, but the Core_18 is more valuable. While you might want to wait on improved drivers before buying a new Maxwell card, if you already have one you might as well use it.
