"The easiest way is to check to see if /sys/firmware/efi exists. It does not appear if you booted using traditional BIOS."

as a side note, more problems.. i finished two core 15 wu's just fine, but i can't get the 970 to do core 17 wu's.. it keeps failing them for whatever reason.. it doesn't even start to work on them.. no idea what's causing it.

only bad work units on GPU

I recently bought a GTX 980 and have been trying to overclock it while using Folding at Home to test the stability. It worked perfectly until today, when it will only get bad work unit errors and will not start folding. I have tried: resetting the 980 to the factory settings, restarting the computer several times, deleting the work unit for the GPU slot, and even re-installing the client. I didn't see much relevant information when I looked on google. I really don't think I damaged the GPU since it has no problem playing games. I don't have any problems with the CPU folding.

Here is the error in the logs. The unit information ID always different, so I know I'm not getting the same work unit.

yah, that's the same error i have been seeing, i guess there isn't much i ca do then as it isn't a local error, strange that they would just suddenly start failing like that though.. i tried enabling the advanced flag as they said on the main site, but that didn't help at all...

My initial issue with my 980 was not having a relivent entry in the GPUs.txt to support the card, thats now updated in the download.
I manually modded though as I brought 980 on release date.

However now as others are seeing core 17 & 18 are broken (from what I can gather a stanford release change in the core version).

I was munching on 17 and 18 cores fines since I brought few weeks back then the AS server changes which then resulted in nothing but core 15 for me PPD plummeted from 300K to below 70K .....and now crunching nothing.

Also on mine Collection Server keeps saying 0.0.0.0

No help is available here if you use the beta flag (though I doubt it's relevant).

Either join the beta team and accept the responsibilities there so you can report in the beta forum, or remove the beta flag.

yup not relevant.

Problem is across the board, either due to how the cores initiate with Maxwell or how the servers are responding...

Many cores ran fine a few days ago, and are now refusing to start.

Dr. Panda said that they are working on a software fix...perhaps more news on Monday.

Probably they are too busy to worry at present, but next time might be different.
