Sapphire HD7870

It seems that a lot of GPU problems revolve around specific versions of drivers. Though AMD has their own support structure, you can often learn from information reported by others who fold.

Total shots in the dark - Is the user you are using to access the computer doing so via Microsoft remote desktop? Does your motherboard have Lucid virtu?

Other than drivers, I don't see anything that would prevent folding from detecting the video card.

I'm pretty sure I have Virtu disabled on my other rig. But I just got an FX-8150 as a gift from a friend and since I don't have a GPU for it yet I'm using the HD7870. I just added the GPUs.txt to the FAHClient folder and my 7870 works. So it has something to do with my other motherboard or CPU setup it would seem. When I get my HD6670 in the mail I will switch it back to the i5-2500K machine and try to fine-tune the settings and figure it out. Because it is obviously not a problem with the GPU itself. Thanks for the ideas, I appreciate it. I will check back and post my solution mid-week.
