I'm uncomfortable with GreyWhisker's use of the word "tree growing...." To me, that implies many branches, emanating from a single root. I don't think that actually happens.

In my mind it's a lot more like a corn field. Every trajectory has values for [Run,Clone] sort of like a location in the field. They all start from a seed, Gen 0, and progress through Gen 1, 2, 3, ... until the entire field reaches the expected height, though not necessarily all at the same rate.

In rare instances, a single plant may contract a fatal disease (aka: a bad WU) and that trajectory may stop growing at Gen K but the rest of the crop keeps growing.
