If may be worth restarting the process, if you can, as the retry frequency decreases over time.

All 5 of my ATI boxes have been twiddling thumbs for at least a couple days. Seems they will grab a WU every few hours, but it's very hit and miss. Two of my machines will complete a full WU in 1 to 4 hours, but then wait up to another 12 hours for a new WU. The others are much slower and take at least a full day to do a WU. They haven't grabbed anything new in quite a while.

Here's something interesting. I haven't seen the "unstable machine" thing in a very long time, but now it's showing up again. Don't know if it's related or not, but interesting it's showing up at this time.

[13:53:33] Folding@home Core Shutdown: UNSTABLE_MACHINE
[13:53:36] CoreStatus = 7A (122)
[13:53:36] Sending work to server
[13:53:36] Project: 5742 (Run 1, Clone 64, Gen 998)
[13:53:36] - Error: Could not get length of results file work/wuresults_00.dat
[13:53:36] - Error: Could not read unit 00 file. Removing from queue.
[13:53:36] - Preparing to get new work unit...
[13:53:36] + Attempting to get work packet
[13:53:36] - Connecting to assignment server
[13:53:36] - Successful: assigned to (171.64.65.102).
[13:53:36] + News From Folding@Home: Welcome to Folding@Home
[13:53:36] Loaded queue successfully.
[13:53:37] + Closed connections

Which of course resulted in...

13:55:14] EUE limit exceeded. Pausing 24 hours.

So that's why some of my machines aren't getting WU's.

I too haven't seen "Unstable_Machine" in awhile. Only recently after making 8 attempts to get a WU did the HD5870m client finally download Project: 5740 (Run 0, Clone 88, Gen 383) and then promptly choked (see below). It downloaded the same project 4 additional times and then the client was paused for 24 hours. Restarting the client yielded 6 more attempts to get a WU, followed by the same project and another choke. However, it then picked up Project: 5732 (Run 2, Clone 136, Gen 115) and has been working fine since.

Meanwhile on the HD3850 side, 23 attempts before I restarted the client. Since the restart, 10 additional attempts and nothing.

Project: 5740 (Run 0, Clone 88, Gen 383) was reported.

This is for informational purposes only and should not be taken as an indication of impatience.

I do know that a bunch of new WUs were added about 24 hrs ago but apparently they're gone. I don't know how many or how long they were expected to take to process but I've notified the key people again.

There are quite a few WUs in the "Wait" category on 171.64.65.102 (whatever that means) but very few in the WUs_AVAIL on any of the ATI servers.

Still waiting. Perhaps it would be best to shut my folding down for a few months until the ATi gets a little love. It's a pity; my card was really tearing through the data, when data were available.

I only had 5 failed tries before getting another unit this time. Maybe they're starting to catch up.

I know what you mean. Shortly before the outage we had the largest PPD we've ever had and then the well ran dry.

You really have to wonder when ATI cards that support OpenCl have been around for a couple of years now, and which other distributed computing groups report a linear increase in performance, but no effort has been made here to support them.

Then, the new gpu client which ONLY supports nvidia cards is released which just so happens to coincide with the release of the new nvidia cards.

And now all of a sudden there's no wu available for ATI cards.

Maybe money does speak the loudest after all.

This is just how i see it, maybe i'm wrong.
