I am one of many people here that help others. I am simply giving you Stanford's already clear response to this issue: They are done crediting for that problem. You want something more, then supply the data needed -- You have it in your logs, they don't. If you can't then it's done and all you are doing is whining. There is good reason, the original thread was locked.

If you want further credit without giving the Project (Run, Clone, Gen) just go to Vijay Pande. He's the one with the keys to the stats server and can actually do something.
Just Curious how many points did you loose from the crash. What is your folding name I would like to check.

And I have given the Project (RUN, CLONE, GEN) or are you calling me a LIAR. Is it right for 1 person to recieve all and possibly more credit for the work they have done, and another person to not recieve the credit due them. If that is what you believe then this is a pretty sad place we dwell in is'nt it.

Just like my signature indicates I run under P5_133XL, team 10047. As far as how much I lost or did not lose: I don't care and did not pay any attention. It just isn't important to me. I am not folding for the betterment of my points but rather for the good of mankind and whether I get credit for it or not is not a biggie.

I have seen nothing from you giving Project (RUN, Clone, GEN) for each WU you claim not to have received credit for. I just looked at your diagrams again -- Still nothing.

Of course it is not fair for someone not to get the credit that he/she deserves. However, no one other than Dr. Pande can do anything about it and he has made his public statement saying he can do no more. If can get him to credit you, the more power to you.

I had to display the browser in full screen mode on a 24" wide screen and close my side bar to see the RCG column. I'm sure most folks never saw that.

It doesn't look like you got any points returned to you. Perhaps somebody should have a look at that.

I didn't get them. I lost roughly 280K and got back 100K on the recredit. Such is life. It's not like the points can be converted to cash or coupons or anything. For me, it was no worse than a Friday night power outage at my office, which is a far more regular occurrence than the stats server failing.

Yha, I'm here for the long haul, and hope the missing 25k eventually becomes a tiny eek of a fart in my total points.

Actually to me the points don't mean crap they just add some fun to it. What does matter is the way I and some others were treated on this forum. Called childesh names by other members who had lost nothing and had no right to do so. People are very brave when they are sitting behind there keyboards and a few are very rude. I was asked back then to show proof but I did not think I had any, It is amazing to me how little trust there is in our socity today. Any way I was looking through my hard drive and happend to open up the HFM folder and guess what, I happend to be running it on the days in question and HFM had recorded and saved every WU completed and sent while it was running.

Needles to say I decided to post it and see if anything could be done. Well one thing that sureley was done was the name calling and rudeness started all over again. Imagine that a person has proof of what they clame and they are an ass for posting it. Actually there are a few people who should be ashamed of thimselfs but unfortunatley that is highley unlikley.

Anyway I don't care if Stanford gives me the points or not although it would be the right thing to do. What I do care about is the way some have treated others and hopefully that will get better. We are all Humans, ( I Think ) ?????????

Besides from the 'bitching' which I do see as well the thing most standing out are the people who lost and see the bigger picture :!:

Kudo's, and maybe an example for those who seem to take a bigger issue with it though I admit I am in no position to offer judgement I didn't loose nor gained anything ( as much wurse then not getting credt, I didn't submit any wu's at all ).

I wanted to post just to shine a light on those who stand out positively rather then those who stand out negatively, toTow's post reminded me ( nothing personal btw! ) that they tend to get overlooked :)

So if this is not such a biggie for you, why do you have Extreme Overclocking's stats graphic in your signature. Your claim that it's "not a biggie" rings a bit hollow if you are willing to proudly display the degree of your status and participation in every post you make.

As much as I hate to point this out, stats==status here. You know it, everybody knows it. But what else I am noticing is those who say it's "not a biggie" are very likely to have multiples of millions of points to their credit. So maybe a few thousand isn't important to you. You've already achieved a certain degree of validation and status to the point that you feel it incumbent upon you to intercede on behalf of PG.

Whether or not I get my points is unimportant to me as I have a personal interest in seeing Folding@Home remain successful for advancing cures for neurological diseases. I have far more to gain than most participants, yet I still will only contribute commensurate to my ability to do so. Is it not better to commiserate with rather than berate those who feel this issue is important? By stating how unimportant this seems to you, you belittle, perhaps inadvertently and unintentionally, the contributions others are making. Without all those others, how would we be doing?

Point taken.

But do you not agree that those critiquing the OP are a little OB? Saying the points "don't matter" to someone who obviously feels differently does nothing but invalidate and belittle that person. It's no wonder some are feeling defensive and things are getting heated again.

Do we need an impartial arbitrator? There's no one posting here that's impartial, that's for certain.

Points matter, but sometimes stuff happens, Murphy's Law. I believe Vijay did the best he could under the circumstances.

I guess none of you guys were around in the beginning when PG zeroed out the stats of everyone that ran F@H1 when they started F@H2. They got a lot of grief for that and never did it again. I know I wasn't very happy to see all my points gone. Not to mention the G@H points I accumulated before that project went south. :(
