I got another short preferred deadline WU tonight .P3861 which's preferred deadline was 8 days, and is too short for me.
Can FAH team change these kind of short preferred deadline WUs to 'BIG WU' type?Because almost everybody who switch fah to big Wu mode have strong computer ,that can finish these kind of wu in time.
FAH don't open bigWU as default so it can avoid some redundancy problems.Do you agree with me?
PS:FAH can use -advancemethod, too. Please don't send this kind of special WU to normal users .

Re: some advise about AS code
I took about 40 days to finish a P3860, which referred 8 days .And after that nightmare ,I got another P3860.
Who can help me .Should I change to WCG?

Re: some advise about AS code
The p386x projects are benchmarked for hardware which does not have SSE2 support and the final deadline is 60 days. Most modern machines do have SSE2 support so it's not unreasonable to expect relatively rapid returns but standard credit is still granted to older machines which receive these assignments.
Please describe your hardware.

Re: some advise about AS code
A 2.66 GHz Cele D processor should not take 40 days to finish that work if it folds 24/7. It should only take about 3 days of full time folding.
You must have other programs running using all of the cpu resources..., or are only folding about 2 hours a day.

Re: some advise about AS code
It took about 6.5 hours CPU time everyday on weekday(It didnt open on weekends). And it took about 2 hours CPU time to finish a frame(1 percent ).BTW, my cpu had opened sse2 ,I can confirm it in fah log.
I just want FAH team not send this kind of special WU to default users(many users like me don't have enough cpu power or cpu time to run this kind of WU) ,you can send them to 'advmethod' or 'bigWU' users .Because If users didnt have confidence in their machine ,they wont add this parameters to their FAH.In my opinion I'd like change this kind of special WU from 'normal' to 'advmethod' .Whats your opinion ?

Re: some advise about AS code
From what I've picked up, I believe that -advmethod is used as a beta test of sorts. I believe that projects are first tested in-house, then are released for beta-testing to the beta testers. After that, they're given out to people with the -advmethod flag for more widespread beta-ish testing, and if they pass that, they're finally released to the public at large. I don't think these SSE2 WUs would fall under the current -advmethod usage, since they apparently cleared all forms of beta testing. They probably don't fall under the bigWU category either, because that's only supposed to take into account the size of the file, and I guess the DGROMACS WUs aren't large enough to fall in that category.
I dunno, it seems like you got really unlucky. I've been folding on a couple of older CPUs, with both -advmethod and -bigWU, for several months now and haven't gotten a DGROMACS WU in a long time.
