Is it me, or does the update process is slower and uses more resources in the last version ?

Re: FahMon (multi-platform app to monitor various F@h clients)
Here's another issue with a v5.92 SMP client :
Fahmon log :
Real log :
I don't know why Fahmon doesn't see the progress for this client (it also monitors a GPU client which is making progresse correctly). The SMP client is green and shows OK, but it's stuck @ 4%
I have another copy of fahmon 2.3.3 on a networked machine which is working fine with this client ... I don't understand why the local copy isn't working weel

It's probably a manifestation of the same bug that osgorth has reported. If you look at the message log, it probably shows that the SMP client isn't being refreshed.

Yes I guess it's the same issue.
And about the resources usage (CPU @ 100% for ~10s to refresh 6 clients) ?

That may be related to the same problem.toTOW wrote:Yes I guess it's the same issue.

Re: FahMon (multi-platform app to monitor various F@h clients)
I restarted Fahmon, the client updated successfully ... and stopped again
My other machine which is monitoring the network, doesn't have this issue (but it has the high resources usage issue).

Re: FahMon (multi-platform app to monitor various F@h clients)
I am running XP sp3 on an old dual 3.2 socket 604 system. I added a PowerColor HD 3850 to it so I could get more points with the GPU instance. So am running one regular console and one GPU (both v6.2). I installed 2.3.3 FAHmon and it just stalls. Doesn't update itself. I tried turning on and off asynchronous clocks, tried manually setting the time zone. Nothing helps. If I stop and restart it it gives me the right numbers. Sometimes it updates itself once or twice then quits and just sits there.

I can't set my timezone properly since you've not accounted for the fact that non-integer timezones exist: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_time_zones My GPU client sortof-autoupdates (and manually updates), but my CPU client doesn't.uncle_fungus wrote:For people getting hung clients, make sure that the timezone is set correctly in FahMon's preferences, and if your various machine's clocks are out of sync, turn on "ignore asynchronous clocks".

All being well, I'm going to be spending this evening fixing the problem.

Re: FahMon (multi-platform app to monitor various F@h clients)
Good news: I've fixed the bug which was caused by a typo in the update queue handler. Look out for a new release in the next few hours (I'm going to try and fix some other things too).

Re: FahMon (multi-platform app to monitor various F@h clients)
I'm encountering a problem with Fahmon 2.3.3. Apparently there is something wrong with Fahlog.txt, but somone just looked at my log and they've said it's fine. I'm running F@h 6.2. This is the error message i'm getting:
When I go to Show/Hide Messages, a new window opens with the following message:Something is wrong with this client.
Please check the messages (Tools->Show/Hide Messages Window).

Re: FahMon (multi-platform app to monitor various F@h clients)
You need to point FahMon at the application data directory, rather than the client folder, since that is where the log is actually written to.
In your case you need to edit the client location to "C:\Documents and Settings\Lloyd\Application Data\Folding@home-x86"
