[Fold Control] Android app to control your v8 client

Post by Frodo The Hobbit »

Fold Control — remote control app for F@H, open beta tonight on Play Store

Tonight I'm putting my Android app into open beta. Sharing here in case anyone wants to try it.

What it is
A native Android app for remotely monitoring and controlling the F@H clients.

What it does
Every linked machine on one screen — PPD, active WU, progress, status
Remote fold / pause / finish, global, per-machine, or per-group
Scheduler with per-machine opt-in (fold your rig 24/7, let your laptop sleep)
Home-screen widgets — small PPD badge + medium widget with per-machine rows and fold/pause buttons
Notifications when a machine drops offline, a WU fails, or a milestone is hit
Tappable drop notifications open the affected machine's detail screen directly
Daily credit summary at 8pm
Data Saver mode with a 1–15 min configurable refresh interval for mobile data
Dark / AMOLED theme, CSV export of WU history

Open beta link

Feedback
DM me here or reply in the thread — I'll fix bugs quickly during beta.

Thanks!

I have not found the way to start the resource group folding. If I have the group already folding from my PC, app sees it and allows me to control it, but if I do not have a resource group running, it does not show up at all in the app

Take fedora43 in your app:
7950x3d is folding at 24% p12475 and after that it is showing my Intel Arc GPU on that system which is in a separate group, but not folding.
Or MainPC in your app:
7900XTX group is folding at 42% p15422, but then it shows the hardware name of the 7900xtx, which is gfx1100. On that PC there is a separate group for the CPU, which is not folding and is also not listed.
mPC3:
5950x is folding at 2%, p18240. Right after that Baffin is mentioned, which is a GPU on that system, and has it's own resource group, but is not folding.
Hope this helps
