Plan my folding sessions and work

Post by Rafferty »

Hi.
I'm having a really hard time with my calendars right now, it's a mess. Between my Folding calculation slots (I'm running the public version 7.6.x there) set up on my Google, my Outlook for clients, and iCloud for personal use, I can't keep up. I end up with video calls that fall right when I've planned maintenance on my GPUs or big folding sessions because my schedules aren't up to date everywhere. What do you use to sync Outlook/Google/Apple without having to copy everything by hand every morning? Something automatic that runs on its own in the background.

I just fold 23/7 and have downtime when needed to blow out the system. With a stable system there is no need to quit folding for video calls, watching video, even light gaming, along with other tasks. So I don't need to "keep up" with any scheduling, the system just keeps running.

LAR systems has a client scheduler you can use if it suits your needs, but if your system won't handle the overlap in work loads you might have to be conservative on the end time in case it picks up a long work unit.
Fold them if you get them!

Thanks for the tips! I get what you mean about just letting Folding run continuously, but for me the real headache is juggling multiple calendars across platforms. I don’t want to manually check and copy events every morning.

I came across a tool that can directly synchronize Microsoft calendars with Google and Apple, so everything stays up to date automatically in the background. It seems like it could save me a lot of the daily juggling, especially when I need to block GPU maintenance and folding sessions without accidentally scheduling over them. Has anyone tried something like this and can vouch for reliability?
