That just catches exceptions when loading the config.
These are typically just syntax errors.
A poor choice of allow list would not be noticed here.

Deleting the old one has solved the viewing issues but has lost the pause-on-start. What's the best way to re-initiate that?

There currently is no pause-on-start.
You can set finish and when it finishes it will pause. Unlike v7, the finish pause is sticky.

Re: No machines on upgrade from v7
pause-on-start allows for the machine to start and not fold so for when maintenance is required or other tasks will be performed, make the folding activity require a positive initiation. It's annoying having to hover over the start tray looking for the icon to appear to right-click and hit pause. It's not onerous, just annoying

Wait, you just click on pause, before the maintenance reboot. Or am I missing something here?HaloJones wrote: ↑Wed Jan 21, 2026 6:22 am pause-on-start allows for the machine to start and not fold so for when maintenance is required or other tasks will be performed, make the folding activity require a positive initiation. Yes, that is one of the things that was done differently in v8 based on the experience with the defaults in v7. another is that the client does not start folding after an installation until you enable folding.
