8.5.5 client doesn't detect GPU

Hello everyone!

My computer runs Windows 11. Previously, I had client version 8.4.4. Everything worked fine on it.
But for some reason, I decided to update to 8.5.5.
And this version doesn't detect the GPU on my computer.

The worst part... I installed client 8.4.9, which worked before. But now the GPU isn't detected on it either.

I haven't changed the Windows version, and I haven't updated the NVIDIA drivers.
I just updated the client, and now the functionality is broken.

Could you tell me what the problem might be and how to fix it?

Yes, I am blind. Your GPU is not supported by choice (either too slow, or does not have required hardware to work reliably with FAH).
In system settings, set the CPU slider to 6, and use process lasso to tie fahcore_a8 to your CPU P cores

I really don't think OS restoration is required just because FAHclient does not see your GPU. That is an overkill of epic proportions.
Also, you didn't have a problem. Your intel iGPU is disabled by us, and not by specific fahclient version

I tried to remove 8.5.5. I rebooted the computer. I did unlink/link for the computer in the web interface.
I installed version 8.4.9 again, but the GPU stopped being detected in version 8.4.9 as well.

So client sees what your system presents to it. In Windows it is usually straight forward. If a GPU was detected in 8.4.9 it will be detected in 8.5.5, especially in windows. It is possible that Windows pushed their own driver version, which messed things up, or driver crashed. Try reinstalling the GPU driver, use drivers provided by nvidia

I updated the client by completely uninstalling the previous version.
It turns out that the new version, after launching, additionally downloads some files/data. These are needed to detect the presence of a GPU in the system.
Here's how to do it:
1. Install the new version of the client.
2. Enable the VPN on your computer.
3. Launch the client. The client downloads the necessary files from the internet. The GPU is detected. Configure everything.
4. Shut down the client. Turn off the VPN.
5. Launch the client in normal mode (without the VPN). Everything works
