I had an issue yesterday where 8.5.5 wasn't working (see "Oops. How do I get started again?")
I got going when I installed 8.4.9 and was running fine. I upgraded to 8.5.5 and it stopped. So I've got back to 8.4.9
8.5.5 works fine on my laptop, but not on my PC which has a NVIDIA graphics card.
Cheers
John

With v8-4.foldingathome.org
make sure all unsupported GPUs are deselected. Then 8.5.5 might work.

Re: 8.5.5 doesn't work for me, but 8.4.9 does
In 8.5.5 my client is on hold telling me that it is awaiting confirmation that my unsupported GPU is supported. Back to 8.4.9 and everything is working again and the unsupported GPU is deselected.
8.5.5 lacks the checkbox for deselecting the GPU ...
so?

What the previous response is telling you is to use the v8.4 Web Control to make the setting. Some have needed to install v8.4.9, make the setting, and then reinstall v8.5.5.
