Oops. How do I get started again?

Post by CapeJohn31 »

I have a decent PC with a good graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti). FAH was working for me, then something froze and I tried to fix it - and failed. Now when I start FAH I get a "No work" message. I've tried reinstalling FAH with full restarts and it made no difference.
I run Windows 11 and keep it up to date.
Note that I run this both on a laptop (working fine) and a Desktop (not currently working). I'm on v8.5.5 on both machines. My username (listed below) is john27rg. I suspect that when I tried "fixing" things I stuffed up the workunit record or something and need someone who knows what they're doing to reset it.

My apologies for the hassle.

Disable the Intel iGPU in Webclient (untick it).

No joy. And it wasn't enabled anyway.

If there's a way to copy in a snippet image in this editor it is escaping me...
[i"m"g]"C:\Users\john2\Downloads\jrg.png"[/i"m"g] isn't working (I put the double quotes around both "m"s so you can see what I'm trying.)

I did notice that I had "While on battery" enabled for my desktop, which makes no sense. So I disabled that, quit FAH and restarted my machine, restarted FAH, but no joy yet.

Images need to be hosted on an external site, this forum does not have local storage of images enabled for bandwidth reasons.

That option can be useful for a desktop system plugged into an UPS and also connected to it by USB cord. If power goes out, then folding pauses.

Ok, I've put a couple of images up on this site: https://www.john27rg.com/scratch

And I still get these warnings:
00:59:43:W :Unrecognized option 'power'
00:59:43:W :Unrecognized option 'paused'
00:59:43:W :Unrecognized option 'paused'
00:59:43:W :Unrecognized option 'pci-bus'
00:59:43:W :Unrecognized option 'pci-slot'

That's normal. You have some obsolete v7 options that are ignored except for the warning.

Try installing 8.4.9, make sure the iGPU is not selected, reinstall 8.5.5. Should not need to uninstall.

Seems to be a new bug to characterize and add to github issues.
