Pause on battery?
Where is the pause on battery function in v8?
This is a desktop, but it has a UPS. And although that UPS is two 130Ah motorhome batteries, I thought it would be wise to pause Folding@Home automatically, since it does also power the fridge, lights, stereo, TV, important stuff

Re: Pause on battery?
Does that mean they will at some point? Should I bump it or is that rude?

Re: Pause on battery?
Yes, it will happen eventually.
No need to bump.
It is tagged Enhancement, but not assigned yet.
I need it myself for UPSs.

Re: Pause on battery?
Yes, IMO a bump would be rude unless it’s to add info.

Re: Pause on battery?
I was trying to find a way to pause it externally. There seems to be a "battery saver" in Windows 11 (and 10), which will pause "background apps" when the battery is below x%. But Folding@Home is not a "background app" whatever that means. I can see no way of adding a "normal" app to the list.

Re: Pause on battery?
If you can have it run scripts, that’d do.
You would also need to install python3 to send pause/unpause commands.

Re: Pause on battery?
The FahCore are probably considered background tasks.

I'm not a programmer, I have no idea how to do scripts. My limit is some DOS commands.
Nothing in FAH is considered background. Even things which are considered background tasks are not able to be paused. It's not very useful.
