An RTX titan only gets 10% added to an RTX2080Ti on Core 21.
The list is of core 21 WUs, overclocked on Windows or stock on Linux, and may or may not be valid anymore.

Hi all, I'm fairly new to folding but was somewhat surprised by my PPD with a UVOC Vega56 Pulse. PPD depends on the project but I have been averaging between 1.1-1.35M PPD with about 180W peak consumption. Is this typical or did I win the silicon lottery?

Compared to data we have for Vega 64 it seems that you're lucky.

If you want to contribute to build this database please upload your Vega 56 (or any other folding data) to the database:

The silicon lottery has nothing to do with PPD. Chip A with bad silicon at 1400 MHz will make the same PPD as chip B with good silicon at 1400 MHz. The silicon lottery comes into play when you start overclocking. :) Either your card is clocked higher than a regular Vega 56, or the work units you got are scored differently.

But HouseHeater doesn't state that the clock is fixed to 1400MHz therefore it could be clocked higher due to silicon lottery.

I did not follow the whole thread, but did someone already mention https://folding.lar.systems/gpu_ppd/overall_ranks ?

My GTX 1050 is doing as much as 360 kPPD while taking 67W. My 2070S is doing 3 mil PPD with 210W.

This might have already been posted in this thread, but I've found it to be the most helpful "Hardware PPD list" (GPUs only):

https://folding.lar.systems/gpu_ppd/overall_ranks

Also, I have to wonder if this list considers the Passkey bonus by netting it out or if it is based on the PPD WITH the Passkey bonus?

The PPD is based on using a Passkey Bonus. Overall I think that site has done a good job of the data accumulation and the variances over time with work units PPD variances, current software versions, etc. It's a great resource for many people and now includes cost/point information for us.
Fold them if you get them!

Thanks for the info! I wonder how many people are wondering why their PPD isn't as high as they think it should be, but aren't using the Passkey...

When you say Passkey, just referring to the username/Passkey combination as it relates to who I am? Right? My PPD has starting varying wildly depending on work unit lately… seem to go from 2.5M to 9M work unit to work unit. And in total, averaging about 5-10M less PPD than the low to mid 30Ms I was just getting a few weeks ago. I did upgrade to latest Game Ready drivers… but still see 9-10m for some WUs.

@Lazvon

Yeah, that's what I'm referring to.

I find it interesting that you are having a problem with largely varying PPD. I have a 3950x and 1080 Ti and I'm currently averaging 1.4M-2.2M PPD (CPU and GPU). I used to average 2.4-3.3M PPD last summer. I've found that my PPD have been declining over the last year or so. And I don't think it's hardware because benchmarks are still within 1-2% of what I'd expect that hardware to provide. No crashes, solid as a rock.

I'm thinking of getting a 3080 Ti, but it sounds like they are having a similar problem (based on your hardware list). But I do some content creation and gaming, so a 3080 Ti seems like the best value (performance/price) right now.

FWIW, I've been folding off and on since the early 2000s. My (current) team is in the top 1200 and I'm in the top 4300 (with my current UserID, 2 PCs/1PC, respectively)) with ~880,000,000 and ~665,000,000 respectively. It's amazing how powerful computers are now. I'm getting more PPD now than I got with 50-100 PCs when I first started.

Heck, my CPU PPD used to be about 430K-440K and my GPU about 2.6M-3.0M PPD. Compare that to 150K-250K PPD CPU to 1.1M-2.2M PPD now. UGH!

Anyway, FWIW, you aren't the only one seeing a huge variability in PPD. I have another thread about this in this form:
