Whitelist 2070 RTX Please

Post by tomscigars »

For some reason my RTX 2070 Super isn't on the list anymore. Can it be added? I've folded 85 million, but that's stopped now because of this.

I wonder if there is a link between your issue and the issue another folder was having - both appear to be 2070s that were working and now aren't ... viewtopic.php?f=66&t=35698&start=15#p339260

VERY interesting. Maybe it's related. I put my log file below.
I reloaded Windows 10 from scratch, reset the BIOS, verified all drivers and updates are installed. I then installed F&H as normal, but it isn't pickup up my GPU.

Code: Select all

The symptoms are a tad different but in both cases there is an association to GPUs.txt ... Could you look at past logs where your 2070 was working and post the top part with the GPU slot identified - I am intrigued to see if it is the same as the other case.

... and if you edit your post, select all the log text then click on the code button above the edit pane it will add tags that will display the log in a scrollable window :)

I appreciate the replies! Unfortunately, I didn't think to do that before reloading the entire system. My fault for not investigating first. I figured re-doing everything would fix it.

All good! I appreciate the replies either way : )

I download the drivers right from Nvidia's website. Everything is freshly installed last night and into this morning.

Very weird indeed. A few days ago I noticed F&H was barely using my GPU, so I figured I'd do an uninstall/reinstall. Since that didn't work, I figured it's an old load of Win 10, so a fresh install was due anyway.
I also reset the BIOS to default, except for XMP (3200).

Re: Whitelist 2070 RTX Please

For months F&H hammered my GPU as it should, then suddenly it was barely breaking 42 degrees C when being used by F&H. Then the uninstall/reinstall debocle happened. It's sure;y not a hardware or Windows issue. I'm suspecting the GPUs.txt file, as I couldn't fine my GPU's device ID. Wish I kept the old file, but I researched backwards, so it's gone unfortunately.

Would have to find an old version of GPUs.txt, but it appears this version of the 2070 Super and its device ID are not in the current version. Whether it was an editing error or something else I can not tell. In any case, even if the local copy had the entry from being older, the copy on the Assignment and Work Servers is the controlling one.

I must have not seen it. I just deleted the GPUs.txt file and allowed it to re-download, but it still won't let me add a GPU slot. Something weird with this client software for sure.

Actually I just re-searched a new copy of GPUs.txt, and can't find it. Device ID 10DE 1EC7 - 10DE 13AA.

Here are the results of searching GPUs.txt file for "2070" I searched other parts of the device ID string with no returned results, other than the "10de" string, which returned a lot of unrelated results. My particular card isn't in there, no?
