Four Cards Happily Humming!
I'm an old retired guy who loves to play with computers, so this has been a great opportunity for me to feel like I'm helping in these trying times. Right now all four of my cards are running great, here's the lineup so far:
GTX 2080 ti: 3415629
GTX 2080 ti: 2953242
GTX 1660 ti: 771548
FirePro S10000: 496025
All together that's 7,636,084 ppd. Not all of them stay running all the time, but they've been pretty consistent since I came on board. I'll be adding 2x GTX 1070 ti and another S10000 later this week and screw the power bill, this is a good cause.

Don't let too many people know you are getting GPU WUs - they will want to steal them !! - or want to know what your secret is

It's been much better the last 24 hours. I've for 6 cards all fully loaded and getting work.

That's probably at my expense, I've been experiencing more idle time the past few daysHaloJones wrote:It's been much better the last 24 hours. I've for 6 cards all fully loaded and getting work.

My anonymous source tells me that they overheard someone who knows a guy that has it on good authority that Harpo is involved with an underground WU smuggling operation.Neil-B wrote:Don't let too many people know you are getting GPU WUs - they will want to steal them !! - or want to know what your secret is

Once a slot has more than ten attempts, those attempts become spaced hours apart. Pause the idling slot and restart it, you'll get more attempts, making it more likely to pick up a wu sooner.OK, what's your secret

That's not a secret, that's common knowledge.paulmd199 wrote:Once a slot has more than ten attempts, those attempts become spaced hours apart. Pause the idling slot and restart it, you'll get more attempts, making it more likely to pick up a wu sooner.OK, what's your secret

Re: Four Cards Happily Humming!
Here's my guess. Not everybody's computer folds 24x7. There are times of the night when the demand for new WUs goes down just enough fo resupply "all are base" GPUs.
Don't ask me what part of the world is a valid use of the word. "night" My GPUs are generally all folding when I get up in the morning, even if they were failing to get assignments when I went to bed.
Now you know MY secret.

Such a funny problem to have, a lack of work that you volunteer for...
The amount of work getting processed must be mind blowing to the FAH core team.

Yes, and also to the visiting scientists that have come on-board to devise studies of related aspects of of the COVID19 research.Roadpower wrote:The amount of work getting processed must be mind blowing to the FAH core team.

Here's the scale of how mind-blown the researchers are:Roadpower wrote:...The amount of work getting processed must be mind blowing to the FAH core team.
https://twitter.com/toreler/status/1250 ... 75840?s=20Last week @foldingathome completed over 10.000.000 work units. To put that into perspective that is more than 1/3 of 2019 total WU's! In one week!

Or the comment of one of the researchers a few weeks ago about seeing nearly a millisecond of processing in a day, usually took more like a week.
