New client 7.6.9 issue

New client 7.6.9 issue

I was running cpu and gpu perfectly fine from older version, noticed there were new update and went ahead and updated it, now it only shows the cpu, there are no gpu in the list, my gpu is Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, I also tried adding to the slots manually which doesn't seem to work, anyone know why this has been happening?

Welcome to the F@H Forum GoldenFox,

The issue is that the client doesn't detect any GPU as shown below:
07:19:43: GPUs: 0

I would suggest that you manually download the GPUs.txt file from here: https://apps.foldingathome.org/GPUs.txt (right-click save as GPUs.txt)
Exit the client
Copy the GPUs.txt file from the Downloads folder to C:\Users\henso\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient
Start up the client and ensure that you can see your GPU
Add a GPU slot from FAHControl -> Configure -> Slots tab -> Add -> GPU -> OK -> Save

I've had a similar problem this morning. I replaced a GPU in a machine. Clean uninstalled FAH (incl. data), shut down, installed the new GPU in the machine, started, clean uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers (all Nvidia), everything fine in Windows. Install FAH 7.6.9: no GPU recognized.
Redone the whole thing, incl. the drivers. Same result.
Uninstalled 7.6.9, reinstalled 7.5.1: both GPUs are now there.

ajm -> Can you please try the method above and see if that resolves your issue or not?

I am not sure if this is a bug in 7.6.9 or not.

OK, I skipped one WU...
First tried to update to 7.6.9: no problem.
Uninstalled (incl. data) and reinstalled 7.6.9: no GPUs. Copied the GPUs.txt in C:\Users\AJM\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient and restarted FAH: still no GPUs

Well, but it's still way easier to install 7.5.1 and then update to 7.6.9... :)

I would suggest that you manually download the GPUs.txt file from here: https://apps.foldingathome.org/GPUs.txt (right-click save as GPUs.txt)

Start up the client and ensure that you can see your GPU

Does FAH really need the enormous toolkit that cuda is? its like... Gigabytes...
Has anyone looked at what parts can be extracted from NVIDIA(*).run and ... just installing that?
