FAH blue screens with 2070 TI Founders Edition

It seems that a lot of GPU problems revolve around specific versions of drivers. Though NVidia has their own support structure, you can often learn from information reported by others who fold.

FAH blue screens with 2070 TI Founders Edition

Post by daausking »

Hello, running the FAH client consistently crashes my computer which has a 2070 Ti Founders Edition.

The computer isn't able to write a memory dump during the crash so I'm not able to provide better information regarding any errors, but it does consistently crash no matter how hard the GPU is working.

My CPU is an i9-9900K , i'm not sure if that could be a cause of the issue as well.

I want to help but my computer can't

Welcome to Folding@Home.

If you send us the first 200 lines of your log we will know much about your computer (What OS, how much RAM, what Drivers, how you configured it, etc.)

It is possible we will recognize error we have seen before.

Check your CPU and GPU cooling and your PSU ...

What geforce drivers do you have installed? Could you look at this thread and see if it is similar to your crashes? viewtopic.php?f=19&t=33988&p=324014#p324014
If you have 445.75/78 installed, try downgrading to 442.

First step is to disable any auto overclocking of the CPU via Bios.
Second is to enable Debug mode from the Nvidia Control Panel.
Make sure the drivers from the nvidia website are installed as Windows update sometimes installs incomplete packages.
If you still are seeing issues, post back and include the first 200 lines of the log file.

Thank you.
