Automate low+working and high+idle loads by time?

Post by Quietech »

Hi. I'd like to have my F@H switch from high to low and back again when I'm not using my computer. I've been leaving it on overnight, but find switching from high power to low rather hard as it really grips on tight to my system. Is there a task/CLI command I can put in via task scheduler? A linux version will help if I'm futzing with my home system too.

Thanks.

It can be done (I don't know the details), but have you tried leaving the settings high? CPU folding runs at low priority so it should not interfere with normal use. GPU is a different matter, but that is not affected by settings anyway.

I did, but it took time for the gears to shift from one task to another. The software and my drivers are up to date.

*edit* I should mention that's "full while working". Full when idle is fine. I just want to maximize performance by still folding while I'm in front of my computer automatically.

Welcome to the F@H Forum Quietech,

Can you please post your log file. Ensure that you have copied the System configuration which is present at the start of the log file (viewtopic.php?f=24&t=26036). Once we have that information, we can provide you with more specific tweaks for you to consider.
