GPUs are ready but not working

Hello my friends.

I started to help a bit yesterday.

The CPU are working all night long, but the GPU are doing nothing. I tryed to fix it by my own, but after couples of hours i stopped it and went to bed.
What am I doing wrong?
I installed some "new" gpu drivers and also the "useless" cuda for my amd cards. :D

I don't think you are doing anything wrong. There are numerous threads on this forum saying that with the recent big influx of new clients the servers are struggling to match supply to demand. After a fairly busy time 24-48 hours ago, my GPUs haven't had any WUs assigned for the past 15 hours or so but have instead been quite busy doing CPU WUs.

Leave your system on and the work will come when it can.

Welcome to folding.

There are zillions of threads - including on the main page - that the WU servers are overloaded.
Best is to restart client or your PC and hope the best.

The logs look as it you are trying to contact from 192.0.2.1 which seems a bit odd (but so do many things) … It may not just be the overloaded servers issue rather more a case of trying to contact a non existent server? … I am sure someone more technically able than I will be able to advise further.

The first bit of quoted log should as far I know always be followed by a bit noting an OpenCL device which it doesn't for you and as such, and also as per the second quoted bit of log, you may not have OpenCL set up... but the third bit of quoted log (a reserved, unroutable IP address) is what you get when F@h says "sorry, your GPU is unsupported due to missing double-precision".

When I look at BARTS at the Techpowerup database, e.g. https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/r ... -6870.c256, indeed I don't see FP64 support even for a 6870; maybe a 69xx would have it. You'd ideally look up your exact card there, but, no, I can sort of assure you at this point that your GPUs are not going to be supported; are too old to have OpenCL DP.

I'm not a Windows user myself, but that might in fact be the reason there's no OpenCL mention for your card(s) in the first place; maybe the current Windows driver doesn't even bother making OpenCL available on what are now old cards...

Hello and thank you all for your fast reply!

It seems they are just too old. I looked at the requirements of the Client At the mainpage and thought i could use them but that was my fault, nvm.

I have no idea why he is trying to Connect to something dead, its the normal configuration After 3 Times installing, deleting the slots and create new ones.

Altough thanks for the Hyperlink into a german forum. I didnt found one in Hurry yesterday.

Yes, the oldest AMD cards that can currently fold are from the HD 5800 and HD 6900 series. All the rest of those series do not support DP. For later series, since on of the low and mid level many cards are still Terascale based, those cards do not support DP and can not be used. GPUs based on GCN or later can, except for nest point:

Many of the mobile versions of these GPUs do not support DP, even when the desktop one does.

They may shows up as "Supported" as they were usable until last year. It will take a bit of time to find them all and change them to be marked as unsupported.
