FAH won’t run after reboot Win 10

Post by lozcsfold »

Hi,

Returning to FAH after PS3 days!

Adding all PC’s from office shutdown and a few PCs at home to help - they are all Windows 10.

Trouble is that not one of the PCs I’ve installed on runs FAH after a reboot - only option I can see to get running again is a reinstall after each reboot.

I’ve tried various custom install options with no success.

Help please?

Thanks

Install FAH while ligged on as the person who is going to run FAH, not as Administrator.
Choose to start automatically or use the shortcut created for that user.
If planning to fold with GPU, install drivers from AMD or from nVidia.

I’ve done that..

All PCs won’t run on reboot regardless of admin account or user.

Do any of the PCs have a F@H log file? If you can't run the FAHControl program, you would find the file in /Users/<user name>/AppData/FAHClient/log.txt. If there is one, post it here; there might be useful info in there.

found the issue listed here - viewtopic.php?f=61&t=32098

workaround seems to be....
found WORKAROUND:

- deinstall + manual deleting of all directories and data (C:/Progs(x86)/FaH, C:/aser/ADMIN/appdata/roaming/FaH)
- temporarily change type of user "WORK" to full rights admin-account
- (reboot)
- install FaH
- autorun FaH as WORK (with admin-rights) once
- reboot
- login as "ADMIN", activate access permission for user ADMIN to folder c:/user/WORK/appdata/roaming/FaH
- change type of WORK user account to regular user as before.
- reboot
--> FaH now works for both ADMIN and WORK on startup, autostart and resume!
Haven't got time to do that on 20 odd PCs :(
