Does network speed increase the speed of computation
Should I try to connect the computer via fast thernet connection when folding, or is it no difference if I stay on wifi?

Welcome to Folding@Home!
By default, when your existing Work Unit gets to 99%, it starts to download a new WU.
Once the current WU is done, the new WU (if downloaded) starts immediately, and the old WU uploads while work is being done.
So long as your Wifi can download a WU before the last 1% of work is done, there is no delay.
There is a way to pick other %s, but mostly 1% is plenty.
