I am new and have folding running on my Mac. Apologies but I don't understand most of the setups described on this forum so apologies if this is a daft question.
Do you need an actual computer to run this or could it be run in unused servers in a Data Centre. At present they are switched off until they are required to conserve power but I would think a lot of data could be crunched with this amount of power.
Can folding happen in a data centre, rather than laptops etc

Re: Can folding happen in a data centre, rather than laptops
Welcome to the F@H Forum Ecosue,
If you could point to some threads or provide us with some brief descriptions, we can give you a better answer.
Currently, F@H software will run on supported systems with the following operating systems; Windows, Linux, OSX. In order for you to fold on the system, you need to be the owner of the system. If you are not the owner of the system, then you need (written) permission from the system owner to run F@H on those systems as per the EULA (End User License Agreement). F@H can run on individual servers but not in a clustered environment. Do note that some companies may allow F@H to run on their systems for a particular time period (https://folding.stanford.edu/home/cpu-c ... tnerships/).

Thanks PantherX - A corporate partnership was what I had in mind. Thanks for the link. There wasn't a way to contact the project to find out more? Can you advise next steps please?

If you would like to discuss a corporate partnership with F@H, then you would have to contact Dr. Vijay Pande directly. You can simply send an email to him by clicking on the "E-mail VijayPande" on his profile page (memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=11).
