I am happy to say that donor Sailplaneguy crossed the 2.5M point mark yesterday! Ya-hoo! 5M points here we come (in August or so).

We crossed the 2.5M mark at overall position 413. Back when we started a year ago or so there were less than 200 donors with more than 2.5M points, which totals more than a billion points: I don't remember exactly how many. Of course the top three donors have contributed more than 500M points all by themselves, so the top 400 probably have closer to 2B points.

So far 142 donors have contributed more than 5M points. By the time we get to 5M there will be over 200 donors with that many points, which will be close to two billion points just in the top 200 donors. I wonder how many nanoseconds of real-world protein folding that is equal to? Cool stuff to think about, any way you look at it.
