Am i folding big av and getting bonus points?

Post by Gooders »

Hi all, am working away and was bored so decided to download fah on the laptop.

Basically question is i am doing some very long work units and i am wondering if there big av units and if i am getting bonus for them?

Computer Specs: Sony VPCEH laptop quad core (on board gpu however)

Core Speed 2693.9 MHz
Multiplier x 27.0
Bus Speed 99.8 MHz
Temperature 84 °C

Core Speed 2693.8 MHz
Multiplier x 27.0
Bus Speed 99.8 MHz
Temperature 78 °C

4 gig ram

Network Connection: no problems here, bb connection however/

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1

Overclocked?: pfft bios would freak if i asked that!

Stable?: Runs high end cad/cam programs ok- despite on board gpu :(

Software: was downloaded last week-7.3.6 taken from the about on the advanced screen

WU details: i have no idea... as long as it finishes them in the time and i get points its all good,

currently munching on 7517 with an

eta of 1.07 days,
Est tpf 15 mins 50 secs
base cred 785
est cred 3244
est ppd 2591

I have done a few work units like this one some take up to 1.5 days but she has done them within the time frame and others i have done in 3 hours.

I had to close her down earlier as it took 15 ish mins to start doing anything...seems to be a few threads smiler but once restarted and given some time she woke up

Welcome to foldingforum.org, Gooders.

1) When they say Big, they do mean BIG as in server-class hardware; rhey don't run on the typical home computer. BigAdv REQUIRES a minimum of 16 CPU-cores (soon to be 24) and it REQUIRES Linux. You only have 4 and you have Windows. For "mere' mortals" like you and me, the ordinary GPU and CPU projects are just fine.
2) Bonuses are a separate issue. They are applied to all CPU-based projects and newer GPU based projects, not just to BigAdv -- provided you have a qualified passkey (More than 10 Bonus WUs with at least an 80% successful completion rate)
3) We do NOT recommend you increase the Verbosity setting. Leave it set at the default of 3. It adds useless information which makes the important information harder to see.

Welcome to the F@H Forum Gooders,

Please note that if you opened up Advanced Control (AKA FAHControl), you will get the details of the WU on the right panel. A less details of the WU are present in the Web Control.

Gooders has used three different passkeys. (probably including a blank passkey for the first WU or two). The other two are both qualified.

Records show that the most recent WUs you've completed are:

Your WU (P8583 R1 C5 G187) was added to the stats database on 2014-01-10 11:17:19 for 1689 points of credit.
Your WU (P9007 R35 C13 G36) was added to the stats database on 2014-01-12 12:05:37 for 1023.06 points of credit.

P8583 did not earn a bonus -- possibly because the passkey was just recently qualified.
P9007 did receive a bonus. Without the bonus, it would have received only 207 points.

I have no information about how/why you qualified two passkeys. (Mistyped one?)

The passkey is a 32-character hexadecimal number. Do not publish it anywhere.

If you want me to check on it, send it in a PM.

Individual WUs can be checked for bonuses like I did above.

When you changed teams, did you get a new passkey or are you still using the original one you were assigned?

Changing either a passkey or a UserName demands a re-qualification. Nobody has ever said what happens when you change (only) your team number. I have always assumed that no requal is required but I've never tested it. The Stanford stats are subtotaled by team but that doesn't necessarily imply a specific relationship to passkeys.
